Healing the Womb

Sitting at my computer, deadline quickly approaching, thoughts of my next article begin to flow as I listen to didgeridoo meditation music. The Great Mind of Ma said, "The Spirit of the Womb must be healed." That was my cue as to what my Higher She had to impart.

Many women are in toxic, intimate relationships. These relationships do not allow women to honor themselves, their family, their community or the world at large.

In various Medicine Woman cultures, when a woman has been molested, sexually abused or simply ending an intimate relationship that has run its course, she cleanses herself with a fertile egg.

Saying prayers and affirmations into the egg to release the hurt, the pain, the anguish and to bless the situation, she then passes the egg over the aura of her yoni to absorb the negative energy from her womb, making it an offering to the Great Earth Mother, that She may transform the energy into one of a joyous rebirth.

After cleansing the Spirit of the Womb, one would ask the Mother of the Earth permission to enter into her Sacred Body in order to bury the egg and seal it with salt and ash, as is done amongst the women of the Dagara people in West Africa.

This type of ritual cleansing is done four times: Four consecutive days, four weeks or four months. Each time another egg is used and the same process of burying the past is ceremoniously performed.

In other Medicine Woman cultures, they break the egg in running water after such a cleansing.

One can also use crystals instead of eggs. I recommend red, orange or clear quartz crystals for this work. The Earth Mother gives us crystals and gems to work with that we may heal ourselves but She too is in need of a healing and by giving away a crystal to renew and refresh ourselves, we are also helping to renew and refresh Mother Earth.

There are many womb dis-eases that must be healed. It is in this healing that self-love takes place. Women who have experienced womb loss can take that experience and turn it around. When I speak of womb loss, I am talking about any violation that has taken place.

Placing your hands on your belly, spiritually reach inward and become one with your femaleness. Send healing love energy to and acknowledge the vulva. You may very well find yourself becoming poised and powerful. Center yourself by holding your belly, humming your inner song. This simple daily ritual will assist you in your healing process.

All too often we are in a hurry. Running here and there, too busy to slow down. We do not take time to honor our Sacred Womb Space. It is imperative that we make time for a simple ritual that will bring us into a new awareness of ourselves as women. Healing our collective womb, we can begin to journey, exploring the deeper realms of our femaleness. What a joy!

Meditating on the Sacred Vulva while playing a drum to the rhythm of your heart will send rushes of electric impulses to the wounded womb. Beating the drum assists in holding the power of the Spirit of the Womb. The energy from the drum will feel warm like the Sun or cool as river water. Whichever sensation you feel, know that it is doing the work that it was called upon to do. Yin and yang have a complementary purpose.

Recently, I purchased a small drum and, placing it between my legs, I closed my eyes and felt the rhythm of my yoni. I played what I felt and the sound flowed through me taking me into a hypnotic trance. It was good. I've since played many different beats on my drum and each session sends its own healing vibration and rhythm through my body. I enjoy playing my Yoni Healing Drum and recommend it as a practice for those women who have an affinity for the drum. You won't regret it.

The Spirit of the Wounded Womb is yearning for healing love. It has known pain of various degrees. It knows that tender loving care is a catalyst for being made whole in the Spirit of Love. The Womb Spirit knows and understands the true essence of you and who you are born to be. It wishes for you to remember that as you connect with the Universal Mothers to gain the wisdom so needed in these days.

Become one with your Sacred Gateway. Hold your belly, make a joyous noise and continue the healing process!
